Wake me when sale ends?

Sale is one of those things. One of those things like someone telling you that for today only you can consume as many cupcakes as you can stuff in your mouth because they all have 80% fewer calories. Tempting? absoultely! Likely to give you a nasty case of gut rot and sugar coma induced regret-also likely. I did not intend for this to be a rant, because well, I do love a great deal. But be forewarned! you may not want to buy 15 pairs of flip flops, or fill your closet with bikinis just because that's exactly what the retailers want you to do and who likes doing as they're told?

I have instead selected some cupcakes pieces I wanna schtuff in my closet and use for fall, or classics still good(preservatives?) for next year. Some cupcakes even a diabetic can enjoy. Today I scoured the last remnants from Shopbop. Check back for the next installation of "I'm poor and obsessed with nice things and will grasp at rejects of rich women I'm scared of".

February....Pre-fall. Either way. I want you.

Is it just me or is this weather terribly traumatizing? No it's not that I like cold harsh winters, but it's cold one minute, warm the next. It teases you to drag out your little leather bomber, and then bam! You're scraping an inch of snow off of your car while trying to not get snow into your suede booties. So to completely avoid the wardrobe troubles this time of year brings. I'm just giving it the big ol' eff this, and moving on to fall. So here are some of my favourites from both pre-fall and fall, because if I can't wear my brights and pumps now I don't even want to be thinking about them. So there, take this February.

Rag and Bone Pre-Fall

There will undoubtedly be a continuation as I sort through the insert fashion simile here collections of FW 2012. I would also like to try my luck at finding some cheap goods for spring for us normal non-front row types(it wont stop me from obsessing over these though). If you'll indulge me-yes there was a lot of what is to be expected for fall winter, luxurious fabrics, leather, fur, dark rich colours etc. BUT there is something to be said for some designers letting us live out those bright summer nights(take a look-see oversized houndstooth at House of Holland), and decidedly telling us to suck it up because your ankles are gonna freeze all season, and you're going to love it.

Marni Maybe?

A little look at what Marni's up to for Spring 2012...
Planning for the Marni/H&M Collection

The little peep of organza was a constant in the whole collection
This is my favourite- it just reeks of Man Repellant

Neverending little bitty etsy delights

I have moods where I wish I was enveloped in luxury goods head to toe, and moods where I think its way more fun to rifle through vintage and thrift finds and make something new. Etsy delights- and as a side note I wasted(up for interpretation) all afternoon browsing through the thousands of handmade and vintage finds. Check these out and show some love to these sellers

Tu me manques

Strangely enough directly translated that means "You me miss". But yes. I disappeared. And yes. I've reappeared and not a moment too soon with spring ready to wear upon us, and Toronto Fashion week fast approaching.

Chanel and Louis Vuitton are offering up so much femininity and such dainty appeal, the girls on the runway looked like little petals dancing down from some ethereal tree somewhere just beyond our realm of imagination. I love it. It's just so far from anything I could ever imagine wearing, but oh do I love it all.

Alexander Wang not only gave us a little bit of 80's New York inspired sportswear, but models had their hands neatly tucked into meticulously designed pockets. But this crazy floral Nascar number won me over. I love the crazy structure and soft floral and leather touch, thank you A Wang.

The last collection I want to talk about is the offering from The Row. This collection says the business goddess who sometimes likes to wear lingerie to work on Wednesdays. Its just as feminine as what Chanel and Louis gave us, but with so much more breezy ease.

The Art Series-Ka'kia

Last night was an event previewing Ka'kia, a new collection by Alana Kakia. The installation was beautiful, and unfortunately not captured fully by my sad little camera. A little bit hippie, a little bit distressed, and so earthy and natural.  There are also a couple other of my favourite shots of the night.

Berries and Cream

The gorgeous weather lately has not only  made me realize my wardrobe is inhabited with an insane amount of black, but it has also awoken my desire to lounge about outside and eat fresh fruit. These strange inclinations have inspired me to pick (no pun intended), some of my favourite berry and cream coloured things and try and break the black habit even just for a moment. Random I know- but this is what I came up with.
